The ultimate disaster
In recent years, as God has opened His scriptures to greater understanding by those diligently studying them, an outline of His timetable for mankind has emerged. The few events known to remain in this timetable involve doom and judgment for the majority of this world's population, who will perish when the world is destroyed on October 21, 2011... in contrast to God's saved people, whom He will rapture into Heaven on the last day.
Those whom God has made aware of the events to come must not take any ease in their supposed good standing with Him:
2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
The mathematical analysis of dates, years, and events has helped to construct and to verify the location of Biblical events.
However, the serious task of studying divinely-hidden time-clues ought not become an intellectual pastime; where already-convinced believers abandon their appropriate awe at these traces of God's hand raised in warning; and become mere collectors of the curious, set on a scavenger hunt for any oddity, coincidence, or catastrophe they can claim as the newest clue. All study of the dynamics and timing of history must be done with an awareness to the terribleness of our situation, as a just and angry God approaches.
The sign itself must never become the object of fascination. Doing so ignores the God who sent it. To a forest animal, the fast-moving shadow of a hawk should prompt a certain response; and that response does not include pointing at the shadow so friends can also marvel at it; the only response must be to fear, flee, and warn.
No sign from God should ever become an end in itself:
2 Kings 18:4 He[zekiah] removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. The same God who will destroy the earth in 2011, also brought the tsunami of 2004. Pointless debate need not decipher whether this sudden flood (or its timing) was a sign-- a foretaste-- of the world's pending destruction by fire seven years later. Yet the only sign this need serve as, is a sobering show of man in his mortality, wiped away by the slightest effort of God.
Exodus 15:8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
Interesting disaster-related time-intervals
The following observations were made regarding certain events of recent years. Each is tainted with sorrow for many, and it is with reluctance that they are included here, lest they become curios among those who fail to see sufficient warnings in the Bible's pages, and feel moved to seek outside signs or patterns in today's news, or anywhere else.
The timing of the following events may seem impressive, but remember that for each item listed here, other grim historical events can easily be shown, whose date-statistics seemingly contain no significance at all. These findings are merely reported here as information which may or may not be of use... with no desire to highlight or to hide them.
The first two events consistently prompt the remark,
"I remember where I was, and what I was doing, when I heard the news...."

The danger of awaiting signs
God is not obligated to bring any signs of warning; those who park their minds by the roadside waiting for a parade of signs before believing His plan for the end, are not in a favorable position to escape:
Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: [i.e., the simple warning he brought from God to the Ninevites:]
The Bible associates seeking a sign with tempting God :
Isaiah 7:11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
Symmetries among key dates
The date 9-11 may or may not be a date worthy of our consideration as part of God's timeline. True, it did usher in the "age of terror"; though that era's fear was a pale precursor, ten years in advance of the true terror to come: Judgment Day. It may have served to point man's thinking in the right direction-- or it may have distracted many from the far greater threat to come.
Yet 9-11 did light the fuse for two interesting outcomes in the waning years of History:
1. The ruler of modern-day Babylon-- a notoriously cruel and bellicose tyrant, and self-proclaimed "son of Nebuchadnezzar"-- was overthrown, judged, executed, and buried.
Yet there is danger in setting the focus of God's end-time plans on mere earthly events; therefore, the inclusion of September 11th on the following chart is done guardedly, but in the spirit of candid discussion of what patterns may (or may not) exist.
No actual timelines of events are implied here. No particular years are suggested. Of interest are merely the numerical relationships of the dayspans among these key dates.
Notice that were the date 9-11 not shown, the location of the other three points in both parallelograms would still point to the missing date, 9-11. It is perhaps a fair critique that the date 9-10 could be a better fit, as the daycounts of each polygonal side would then be non-inclusive. Yet as nothing visibly dramatic is known to have happened on 9-10, the above chart's value would then be much deflated.
The evening fireball of 11-16-1999
A sporadic "earth-grazer" meteor crossed through the Earth's atmosphere from the American midwest to New England, just after 6 PM CST. This sparkling fireball slowly and steadily crossed the night sky (this author counted 45 seconds), on a straight & level path, being mistaken by many for a low-altitude plane in flames.
Being such a rare apparition, many did not know what it was. It slowed traffic in places and was even visible from inside brightly-lit buildings. Most striking were: its long duration, horizon-to-horizon appearance; large size; attention-getting brightness; trail of sparkling debris and illuminated gasses; and in some places, a sonic boom.
This author has long described this as the most amazing thing seen in a lifetime... and interestingly, this same phrase crops up in several of the written accounts given by other eyewitnesses.
This 1999 occurrence was no less impressive than the similar, more recent fireball over the US on the evening of 4-14-2010. Yet the former occured in a day when cameras were fewer, less ready, and less capable; thus, with nothing to look at, the majority never took note, having experienced none of the awe which permeated the event for those who did.
An added curiosity, which I noted only after writing this study: Inverting the fireball date, 11-16-1999, gives 6661-91-11, which contains 666 and 9-11. 1999 = 3 x 666 + 1 ... As stated, adding 666 days to 11-16-1999 lands on 9-11-2001. The fireball was seen streaking across the Midwest in the general direction of New York.
